How Can I Drive Golf Balls Farther?

How can I drive golf balls farther? My balls all go pretty straight so I don’t have to worry about that but my balls only go about 100-150 yards. I’d like to know how to get slightly better maybe to 180-200 yards. Again, its the distance alone, I’m actually very good in getting the ball going in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Assuming you’re hitting it straight with no real pronounced curvature, I would say your swing is good. However, with that said, I would do two things.
    1. Hit the gym. Start lifting weights. In 3 months I gained 35 yards (215 to 250 average now) and I look better too.
    2. Go to a pro. It will help

My suggestion would be to take some golf lessons, to correct your swing. Most of your mistakes are more likely to be in your swing. The reason you aren’t hitting the ball further than you would like is because you may have a flaw in you swing. I would seek Professional help, and it can be solved in no time. I took lessons for a year, once a week. My accuracy and distance improved tremendously. I went from hitting drives 250 yards to 280-300 yards consistently.

I advise that you pay for lessons with a qualified teaching pro. If you rely on a friend for a “tip” you tend to discount that advise. If you are in your teens you should be hitting a 220 plus yard drive because you have a supple and flexible back. I stopped playing several years ago because I could not get the distance off the tee and I refused to take lessons.

faster clubhead speed gets you more distance but so does hitting the ball in the sweet spot of the club. You may be hitting the ball too low or too high off the face. The easiest answer is to get a lesson or 2. It will help and maybe help a lot. Another answer is to shorten your swing (try this on the range) if you make better contact the ball may fly considerably further. It is all about good contact.

The only way to add distance to the same club and ball combination is to increase club head speed. There are many training aids on the market designed to do exactly this. I used a swing tempo training product called tour tempo this year and increased my distance 30-50 yards off the tee.

lessons are the most important part from the teaching pro .and find a club maker or a pro shop that has the ball launch monitor to measure your swing speed and what angle the ball leaves the face of the club .been fitted with a right shift in the right loft is very important .if the club fit you for your abilities you’ll get the maximum distance .

My friend taught me a trick. Take a towel and put it under your arms where ur arm pits are. You have to try an keep the towel from falling when you swing. Which requires you to keep your arms closer in towards your body. Stance and swing form are everything. Strenght has nothing to do with how far you can hit a ball. Im 16 and whey 140. I drive around 250. The trick helped me so much. After about 5 or 6 swings my ball was going straighter and farther. Try it. It’ll do wonders for you.

i would suggest getting the Momentus Power Hitter
swing it about 50 times a day using your routine or even hitting a bucket of balls with it
it gets you using your body in the most efficient way
i’ve went from 105mph to 115 mph in 2 months by working out and swinging it right after

there are many ways to increase distance on your drive i used to have a short drive but now i am ripping it alot is due to strength but not all it also helps if you have good stance and swing I would recomend getting some lessons from your club pro and maybe a higher quality driver

muscle and form are good… but muscle and weight control will determine how far you can hit the ball… perhaps a better club could help too.
