Do Golf Course Ponds Offer Good Bass Fishing?

I know that every pond is different, but I’ve heard from alot of people that to practice try fishing a golf course pond. At first I thought it was all a joke, but I’ve read a number of bass articles talking about this as well. Do anglers go up and ask the course if there are fish in the ponds? What would make a golf course want to put bass in their ponds to begin with?I’m getting very curious and would like to fish my local course. Please give me some information on this.

Many golf courses are built on what used to be farmland, so the fish are already there. You must have permission to fish them. Some courses will NOT let you, but some will. I have had some success catching good numbers of bass in Golf Course ponds.

I think someone is pulling a fast one on you about fishing in a golf c ourse pond. You might get a heck of a fine…. Can you imagine all the golfers that urinate in those fish ponds. Especially after being in the 19 hole…

I used to fish a course in Texas, man those ponds were full of fish, big ones. As far as why, a good fish population will keep algae growth down.

most golf course ponds have good fishing available. bass, perch, etc. I would be leery about eating any fish caught in a golf course pond though, pesticides, golfers urinating, etc.

I would reccomend NOT fishing, and simply go into GOLF or something…. I once use to fish/murder and well I feel bad about it.
