A successful golf shot often begins with attitude and preparation. Attitude has everything to do with making a great shot. If you don’t believe in yourself then you are wasting your time.
Your attitude will determine your success on the golf course. A great attitude will reward you with shots you didn’t think you were capable of making. Long term preparations include quality equipment that fits properly; and good instructions that you can understand. Have you noticed, usually your first shot determines how your day at the course will unfold. Your attitude will prepare you for that pre-shot—AND success!
When you approach the ball for your pre-shot you should have already made this shot mentally. All that’s left for you to do is get into a comfortable stance, determine the wind Condition, visualize what’s between you and the hole and make your shot. Remember what I said previously, usually—your first shot determines how your day at the course will unfold.
At this point, you should be so focused on this primary shot that you no longer notice any bunkers, water, or out of bounds interference. This is not the time to notice trouble. You have been preparing for this shot from the moment you arrived at the golf course. You simply approach the ball knowing in your mind what you already expect—and that is a SUCCESSFUL shot.
Next, move into your hitting position, placing the clubhead behind the ball, facing the spot on your target line. Now simply face the imaginary line with your body, having your feet, knees, hips and shoulders square to that line while taking your proper position. Remember, none of your body parts face or point to the target, only your clubhead. Everything is aligned parallel to the target line.

To make this shot with 100% accuracy and confidence. This shot was predestined before you stepped up to the ball. Even if you don’t hit the perfect shot, many times your miss will be so good that your scorecard will never show it was a miss. Remember, good golfers are measured as much by the quality of their misses as their good shots…and good preparation is a big key to making better misses!
