Tiger Woods To Take Leave From Playing Golf

Tiger Woods has announced on his website that he will be taking an indefinite amount of time off from playing golf. Woods has been the center piece of discussion for over two weeks now, after Woods smashed his Cadillac SUV outside his house on Thanksgiving evening early Friday morning.

The crash was just the start to what would be one of the biggest fallouts of any athlete we’ve ever seen. Woods has not made it clear when he will return to the golf course, “I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person,” Tiger Woods said. Woods, who has 14 major titles has been chasing the record 18 major titles that are held by Jack Nicklaus, his quest will now be put on hold. “I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children,” Woods said. “I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I’ve done, but I want to do my best to try” Woods stated on his website. Woods was missing from the start of the 2008 PGA Tour season; he will now be missing his second straight year to start the season.

Tiger Woods has too many awards to mention, a couple include, a 10-time PGA Player of the Year, and a 9-time PGA Tour Player of the Year. Woods might be at his lowest now, but I wouldn’t count him out anytime soon. Many golf experts say Woods is making the tight decision, by staying away from golf and focusing on his marriage and children, he’ll have all the time in the world to get back to reaching the Nicklaus record of 18 major championships. Tiger was born in California to Earl and Kultida Woods, he was given his first set of clubs at age 2, and at age 3 he shot a 48 on a 9 hole course. He began his professional career in 1996, and signed big time endorsement deals with Nike, and Titleist.

Nike will not drop Tiger from their endorsements and believes this is just a minor set-back in his career. In 2000 Woods won 3 straight majors, nine PGA Tour events, and tied 27 Tour records. Woods won the 2008 U.S. Open over Rocco Mediate before cutting his season short due to injury. Throughout the last 3 weeks, Woods has gone to hell and back, the media has been all over him for his profound behavior, as a father and as a husband. Tiger has yet to give an indication on when he will return to playing competitive golf. – For sports articles alike check out The Sports Weekly – latest sports news at your fingertips.

Golf Etiquette Review

Golf Etiquette.

Here is a short guide to golf etiquette and golfing behaviour. It really means showing consideration to the course and other players, especially for beginners it is one of the most common pitfalls. Just keep in mind a few of the simplest rules as soon as you step on to the golf course.
Bunkers:
It is most annoying when some player’s leaves footprints and club marks in a bunker. Always smooth out any and all marks left by you. If a rake is not available at least try and use your club as best you can to smooth out. Leave the bunker as you would like to see it left.
Divots.
Using a practice swing or an actual swing shot. Take your time and replace the divot in the hole you created and make sure to press down the divot with your foot. It only takes seconds to do it.
Greens.
There is nothing worse than seeing pitch marks left un-repaired. A lot of the time when a ball lands on the green it leaves a pitch mark. You must repair such pitch marks using a special tool or a tee-peg. Make sure to have a pitch mark tool with you always. Avoid dragging your feet when on the green as it too will leave line marks on the grass.

Flag: Place it down gently do not throw or drop it. Don’t walk across the line of a players putt. Be totally silent when a player is taking their shot that applies at any time on the course.

Slow Play: While your partner is taking their shot be thinking and preparing for your shot, so as to be ready immediately to take yours. After teeing off try and walk as quickly as possible to your ball. At the green make sure to have your bag at the same side towards the next tee box.

If your golf ball goes into the rough and looks like being well hidden, you should direct the players behind you to play through. Don’t give time searching direct them on right away as it prevents delays and frustration to those on the tee box behind you. Remember everyone looses their ball even Tiger Woods.

The Tiger Woods Golf Game

If you watched a Tiger Woods video as slow motion golf swing could you find what makes him such an amazing success? What is in the Tiger Woods Golf game that has given him victories in every major tournament in the world? What does he do that makes the difference? Some say it’s not his swing or even his striking of the ball but the putting training aids his father Earl introduced to him as a child with a rigorous training schedule. Earl would bang drums, shout, be abusive, be dead silent, even throw objects as the young Tiger learned how to putt in any condition or circumstance and now it is such a feature of his game when his putting is under pressure.

Well not matter how good his putting is it is indisputable that he has one of the finest golf swing motion in Golf today. The first part of his swing shows amazing flexibility where he is able to extend so far back, further than most other tour pros, without his swing collapsing or being over extended for his physique. Also the experts note that Tiger while rotating the torso always keeps it as a straight line over the right leg, which is so important for balance and control. He has this unique ability to combine dexterity, strength and flexibility in the one action and there are not many who can do this. So is this the answer to seeming easy golf swing, which bring such success.

However a golf swing analysis shows other areas of balance and power that contribute to the famous Tiger Woods golf game. The point of release has been studied -once he is at the point of release from the backswing position to go forward Tiger has built up, at this early stage, a stored up clubhead velocity ready to be released. He gets this by turning his torso and pressing his right leg forward toward the swing. Through the full action of the swing tiger wastes no energy by keeping a straight line above the ball. Apart from the speed and the force from his shoulders and arms, he also uses his powerful upper body strength in the swing as he pushes forward to swing through the ball.

Next Woods drives the clubhead through the ball using the stored up force from his hips, shoulders and wrists as he concentrates the impact force and makes a very fast The Initial ball speed just two feet off the tee has been measured at 180 mph, which is up to 20 mph faster than the average tour pro.

Finally there is the magnificent Tiger woods golf swing follow through. It is said a good follow through is a tell tale sign for how good was the swing at impact and through the ball. It is one of the most overlooked elements in the golf swing as if once the ball had been sent off the tee it didn’t matter where the club ended up. Tiger follows through beautifully with club ending up far around his back, completing a long and smooth clubhead rotation.

You can improve your golf swing if you have an expert golf coach to show you how to. Bobby Eldridge is one the best known coaches in America today. He has coached so many to successful golf.
